Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES)

Easily verify the authenticity and integrity of digital documents with Advanced Electronic Signatures.

Enhance protection of sensitive documents

Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES) offer an additional layer of security for your documents. Through robust digital signing measures and identity verification techniques, AES shields your documents from tampering and fraud, keeping your sensitive information safe.

Boost compliance

Utilising AES for your documents simplifies compliance with national regulations. This is particularly crucial in compliance-heavy industries such as legal, government, and financial services (in particular, HMRC), where AES is increasingly becoming a standard requirement.

Increase trust in your transactions

AES involves stringent processes for verifying the identity of signers before they can proceed with signing a document. This high level of security not only enhances the authenticity of each transaction but also builds greater trust between all parties involved.

Advanced Electronic Signatures explained

An Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) is a type of electronic signature that provides higher security and assurance levels compared to simple electronic signatures. AES is specifically designed to verify the authenticity and integrity of digital documents. Here’s how AES works with Signable:

  • Unique identification: Each signature is uniquely linked to the signer through Two-Factor Authentication. This process verifies the identity of the individual, ensuring that the person signing the document is who they claim to be.
  • Change Detection: Any alteration to the document after it has been signed is detectable thanks to Signable’s Digital Signing capabilities. This preserves the document’s integrity by including an eSeal on every document, which acts as a digital guard against potential tampering.

With Signable, activating AES is straightforward – you simply need to enable the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Signers feature when sending a document to be signed. This feature, combined with our Digital Signing capabilities (which is automatically applied to each document you send with Signable), ensures your agreements comply with AES standards seamlessly. You can rest assured that all security and compliance requirements are taken care of without any extra effort on your part.
